Georeferencing Natural History Collections:
Prelimary Results from Requirements Workshop September, 2003
•Problem Statement:
–In order to speed georeferencing of specimen data, a number of disparate projects from the natural history collections community have generated semi-automated and automated georeferencing solutions.
–It is envisioned that a collaborative development process would result in a superior suite of georeferencing tools for the community than would otherwise be created if exisiting development efforts continued in parallel but largely independent tracks.
